In his discussion on “How VR Will Go Mainstream: The History of VR and Where It's Going," Tony Parisi will discuss the history of virtual reality and offer insight into why the industry is where it is now, while predicting how the medium will progress as time moves forward.
One of the earliest pioneers in the VR industry, Parisi is co-creator of 3D graphics standards like the virtual reality modeling language (VRML), which allowed for the creation 3D environments that were accessible through a web browser. He's gone on to pen books about VR and programming applications in HTML5 and WebGL, as well as oversee virtual and augmented reality strategies at Unity Technologies.
A key goal of the panel is to inform attendees about the compelling ways VR and AR intersect, as well as give a peek into what's next and how it will propel VR into the mainstream.
